Queens of pop
In January 2011, ARTE’s viewers selected their own ten “Queens of Pop” from 50 suggestions. The winners – from Aretha Franklin to Lady Gaga – were then introduced by Signed Media in ten 26-minute documentaries. The resulting historically and culturally relevant portraits present not only the commercially most successful, but also the culturally and socially most significant singers of the past 50 years.
The series was crowned by a huge live show produced by Signed Media and held in the Fish Auction Hall in Hamburg-Altona. Guests included Nina Hagen, Kate Nash, Les Nubians, Ina Müller and many more.
